Heart and uterus of the courtyard (light installation) - February2013
The social importance of a urban courtyard means a comunication between the inhabitans and consequently their relation to the outside. The cell, that is the courtyard, binds its inhabitans bind a closed door and makes the space between the apartments the sociolizinh hive that is the heart of the small comunity in the heart of a town.
The courtyards from the early 19 th century also had a small garden that sustained the inhabitants; it provided a necesary living space in a natural sense and this connecting them to the land.The simbolic organs represent the two most inportant facotors of the living courtyard life that is now inbeded in the contemporary urban life.
The organs are construced out of plastic cups and in ther core are instaled 2 led light bulbs. Both organs have a diamter of aprocimetly 1,5 m.
